Chesterfield, Derbyshire Pagans 11th Anniversary Moot

Gosh 11 years since our first ever moot!!  We had a change of pubs during those years to over the road at what was the New Inn, where we used the land at the back for many happy Hasfests and Samhain Celebrations, to now back where we started at the Telemere Lodge, still every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7.30ish.  There have been a change of faces as folk come and go but there are quite a few of the original people still there and new folk are always very welcome :0)

We had a visit from the Priest of Avalon this month to give a talk on Remembering our Local Goddesses and very interesting it was too.  He also runs the Nottingham Goddess Temple.  There was of course cake and other goodies as well as plenty of chat.

We've had some great talks and workshops this year, starting in January with wool spinning history and the connection spinning has with many goddesses especially Norse ones and sheepy facts. Uses of essential oils, herbs, incense making, chakra chanting, tree knowledge, dream catchers, shamanism and the medicine wheel and of course Lammas Camp planning and workshop talk.

Still to come this year, in November our regular Goblin Market where you can bring things of a spiritual/pagan nature that's still in good condition but you no longer have a need for to swap/sell/trade or your hand made goods of a spiritual/pagan nature to sell so that folk can get some individual unique items for Yule gifts. Then in December the ever popular twig twiddling :0)

We are holding Samhain Celebrations at Eyre Chapel in Newbold, Chesterfield on Friday 30th October around 7.30 start, bring a drum or rattle if you have one.  Ritual to start then party afterwards, food share, bring your own drinks x

Lammas Camp Workshop/Ceremony Times

Yay here's the time slots so you can plan what you're doing on your days at camp, of course that may all change when your there and you just want to sit, chill and chat. (just updated the time table with extra workshops)

This years opening ceremony is going to great (if all goes to plan) followed by drumming round the fire, and then there's the Lammas Ritual this year as well.

Tickets can still be purchased up until 22th July.  Great value at only £20 for 3 nights camping and free workshops and entertainment as well!

Derbyshire Pagans Lammas Camp 31st July - 3rd August 2014

Derbyshire Pagans Lammas Camp is fast approaching now we are past the Summer Solstice, in fact there's only a few more week to go, (I'd best get making more items to put on my stall) ;0)  We're busy getting the site ready, checking things over and the workshops are coming along.  

As usual it's to be held at New House Organic Farm, Knivereton, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, DE6 1JL which offers a field for us with fantastic views and we can have a camp fire burning all weekend, drumming curfew is 10pm due to the sound of drums carrying down to the villages but guitars and instruments which don't carry sound so far can go on longer.  Camping is a bit basic, no hot water or showers, there are stand pipes with fresh cold water and of course the long drop composting toilets, like Glastonbury Festival;0)

Beating of the bounds Thursday evening to open the camp and a Circle of Power to be created by the Lammas Oak planted last year to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Camp.  Please bring along (now this is the important bit) either a stone, a feather, a piece of wood, some soil, water from a stream or river local to the place upon Mother Earth you call home to make connective/offering.

Going to put the rules and regs here as well, unfortunately we have to have some!

Unfortunately these have to be provided by law! It’s boring but please read, print and keep.

Arrival
On arrival please report to the Welcome tent near the entrance to the camping field. Also, there is a steep hill to climb in your vehicle to get into the camping field, which can be difficult in wet weather. We will try our best to help you if necessary!

Pitches
There are no set pitches. We cannot save any spaces for anyone. The pitching is on a first come, first choice basis. If you want to camp next to your family/friends, we suggest you try to arrive together. Also, be aware that some workshops may be noisy. Therefore, if you want a quieter pitch, you may want to consider pitching further up the field.

Water
There are two standpipes which supply cold water only. Please use these responsibly and be aware that the area around the taps may get very muddy!

Toilets
The toilets are eco long-drop toilets, but we do supply two toilet tents on ground level for children and disabled people only! We also provide a gents urinal area. There is no hand washing facilities!
If you are using camping toilets, please use biodegradable toilet fluid and empty these in the long drop toilets. Do not empty them in the hedgerows! Female Urine upsets the Ewes and this is a nasty thing to do.
Please leave all toilet areas in a clean condition, as you would wish to find them. If you ‘miss aim’ please wipe the seats!

Showers
There are NO showers or hot water! You are responsible for your own hygiene needs.

Cars
Cars are parked at owners own risk. The organisers take no responsibility for any vehicle. If worried, please avoid parking near to temporary structures. We suggest that you lock any valuables in your vehicle. The organisers cannot be held responsible for missing items.

Children
Please be aware that there is a very steep cliff on the field above camp, so do not allow your children to wander unaccompanied in this area.
IT IS VERY DANGEROUS!
Please do not allow children of any age to play on the Hay Bales or in any part of the farm yard, by express wishes of the farmer!

Dogs
Dogs are welcome but must be kept under control at all times. There are children and livestock around (and adults!).
All dog mess must be cleaned up and put in the long drop toilets. Eco bags will be available if required at the Welcome Tent.
Please be aware of the safety issue with dogs on tethers or long leads. People do not always look for ropes etc when walking round!
Please do NOT approach dogs without the owners permission!

Stalls
You are welcome to put a stall outside your tent FOR FREE! Please note that you are responsible for your own stall and goods displayed on them.

ANY aggressive or violent behaviour will be dealt with by INSTANT EVICTION!

We have qualified First Aiders on camp should you need them. Please go to the Welcome Tent if you require help. We also have Health and Safety Officers should you require advice.

Please be kind to one another!
Keep your area pretty.
Respect the environment.
Look after your kids, pets, cars and stalls etc.

Whoo it's the start of Hasfest tomorrow, Chesterfield Pagans Shamanism, Paganism Rock n Roll free festival.  Fire, burning man, stalls full of shiny things, music, drumming dancing, workshops, ritual and good people.  See our facebook page for more info Hasfest event.

Message from Hasfest HQ

HASFEST 5 is fast approaching, so here is a brief rundown of planned events and details for all you good folks

FRIDAY EVENTS
Hasfest will begin on Friday night with the opening party, for the past few years this has been quite a bangin affair , however this year we are taking a different route. Opening the weekend with a sonic earth ritual based around bass, beats and fire, expect heavy slabs of dub , dark ambient textures, blessed out beats, outlaw space cadets and of course the unexpected. The party will be held in the grove from 8.00pm onwards ....

SATURDAY EVENTS
Stalls....a fine array of quality shiny goods for sale
Workshops.... Some fantastic workshops this year including :- journeying, belly dance and as many pop up workshops we can cram in 
Goddess and blessings tree for your libations, blessings, honouring and wishes.
Following the awesome success of the Sonic Jam of last year, we will, on Saturday afternoon be staging another Sonic Jam so bring ya instruments
The mission is to put the Rock and Roll into Hasfest, everyone is invited to come together with drums instruments or vice to create a massive noise. Last years Sonic Jam was described as a dark tribal Joy Division- which is cool. Some amps and guitars are available so please come along and let's get it on 

SATURDAY NIGHT
A Belly dance performance by Hipsteria, Blackart Belles and Terra von Dare.
8pm onwards Burning Man with Fireside drumming and dancing.
For the highlight of the weekend the primal fusion of Rhythm Flame and togetherness ...bring rattles drums didgeridoos etc
Camping
Be aware of the following if camping
Toilet s and sinks only available during pub opening
No standpipe or drinking water Bring bottles of water during pub hours
There are no showers
Because Hasfest is not a ticketed event the number of stalls and people wishing to camp is unknown until the event .We will always endeavour to accommodate everyone , but please be aware that space is limited and pitches may be cozy.
Please be polite and courteous when pitching as it is only for one or two nights.
Anyone with a caravan motorhome or large tent please see a crew member before pitching
Stall holders please see a member of crew so we can provide a good position for trading
Please be aware that if space become a problem we may ask that vehicles are parked off site
All rubbish /waste must be taken home with you
Campers must leave site by 4.00pm Sunday

GENERAL INFO AND TIPS
Once again, the owner and staff of The New Inn have allowed this event to happen for free, and shown tremendous support and respect. So please support them by taking advantage of their fine beverages and well priced food .
Hasland village is under a mile away and has a large number of shops a late night garage and several fast food outlets.

HASFEST SURVIVAL GUIDE
If you are camping bring adequate drinking water and it may be wise to give some consideration toward toilet functions, also please remember bin bags for your rubbish as this must be taken home.

PLEASE PLEASE have a good time but be responsible , not only for yourselves but for your children and animals 
Please show respect for the area , the local residents and our host THE NEW INN and please be courteous and tolerant with fellow Has festers
